Love Worth Fighting For with Kirk Cameron and Musical Guest Warren Barfield

December 28th, 2009

The Bible repeatedly uses “father,” “husband,” “bride” and “child” analogies to demonstrate God’s relationship with the church and his followers. There is no better example of the unconditional love God has for us than what we are instructed to have for our spouse and children. Building upon these themes, Love Worth Fighting For is a marriage event, featuring teaching by Kirk Cameron and music by Warren Barfield, designed to strengthen and encourage your marriage.

Please note: Both the 1pm and the 7pm events are identical. Please choose the time that works best for your schedule.

Love Worth Fighting For will be visiting the following cities:

About Kirk Cameron
Following the success of his 1980s hit television show, Growing Pains, Kirk Cameron married actress Chelsea Noble and started a family. Today the father of six is an outspoken believer and has starred in the Left Behind movie series as well as the widely acclaimed movie Fireproof that was released in theaters nationwide this past year.

About Warren Barfield
North Carolina-born singer/songwriter Warren Barfield is on a mission to make the truly important things important again in his life. Things like faith, love, marriage, children, truth, and with his songs, he challenges us all to do the same. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.” Warren has found those things in his faith, his wife, and his belief in love. “These are the things I would die for; things I will wake up every morning andspend my day fighting for.”

Men’s Event: The Good, The Bad, and The Forgiven – Sat. Jan. 16, 2010

October 19th, 2009

Feed Your Faith is looking for some real men.  Real men of God.

In recent years, there have been countless women’s conferences and women’s seminars in our area, but the last large-scale Christian men’s event was almost seven years ago.  On Saturday, January 16, 2010, Feed Your Faith will host a special daylong men’s conference The Good, The Bad and the Forgiven at Sevier Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville.  Our desire is to strengthen, lift up and help build real men of God.

We joke that on Mother’s Day we lift up the moms in our churches, while tearing up the dads on Father’s Day.  With this event, we will build up real men who walk the walk.

Event Details:

  • Where: Sevier Heights Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN
  • When: Saturday, January 16, 2010
  • Time: 1pm – 10:30pm (dinner break from 5:30 till 7pm) Doors open at 12 noon.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Tickets will be available at the door starting at noon. If you already have your ticket, you will be allowed into the sanctuary to get your seats at noon when the doors are opened, bypassing the ticketing line.

Special speakers at The Good, The Bad and the Forgiven include:

  • michael_franzeseMichael Franzese was once dubbed the “biggest money earner in organized crime since Al Capone.”  His mafia empire earned him as much as $6 to $8 million per week at the height of his criminal career.  He left the mob after converting to Christianity and has since written the autobiography Blood Covenant. Today, Michael is a respected Christian author and speaker who has appeared everywhere from Vanity Fair Magazine to ABC’s Nightline.
  • voddie_bauchamDr. Voddie Baucham, a former college football player who turned professor and pastor, was raised in a non-Christian, single-parent home and did not hear the gospel until he was in college.  His journey to faith was a very unusual and intellectual one.  Consequently, he understands what it means to be a skeptic, and knows what it’s like to try to figure out the Christian life without relying on the traditions of men.  As a result, he speaks to ‘outsiders’ in ways few Bible teachers can.
  • Hallerin HillHallerin Hilton Hill is a radio talk show host on Newstalk 100 WNOX in Knoxville and television talk show host of Anything is Possible on WBIR-TV in Knoxville. For two years (2003-2005), he hosted a separate talk radio show on Nashville’s WGFX.  Hill also works as singer/songwriter, author, motivational speaker, and trainer. He wrote “Who Would Imagine a King” along with Mervyn Warren which was recorded by Whitney Houston for the film The Preacher’s Wife, and was included on the film’s Grammy-nominated soundtrack.
  • Karm0405-3053Burt Rosen is the president and CEO of Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) in Knoxville.  Burt has an amazing story of how he ended up running a ministry that had such a personal impact on his life although he had no idea where God was leading him when he first accepted the position.
