kirk_cameronAbout This Event and Feed Your Faith
A few years ago, Mike Williams – an East Tennessee man with a heart for people who are struggling – started a group called Feed Your Faith. The concept was simple; bring in Christian speakers, authors, singers and music groups to help Christians grow in their faith and, at the same time, raise money for those who are less fortunate. Unlike some nonprofit and charity groups, Feed Your Faith has virtually no overhead expenses – so once the cost of bringing the event to town is covered, every penny raised goes directly to a local charity. Although Feed Your Faith may not be one of the largest or best-known nonprofits in the area, it has raised tens of thousands of dollars for groups including Family Promise, Knox Area Rescue Ministries, Second Harvest Food Bank and the School of Hope (a Blount County-based school for single mothers). We are pleased to announce that all proceeds from this event will benefit Family Promise of Blount County.

After bringing nationally known writers and music groups including Lee Strobel (former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune and author of “The Case for Christ”) and Sanctus Real (Dove Award winning Christian Rock and Alternative band) to East Tennessee, Feed Your Faith took a bit of a break to decide how to expand its ministry. After about ten months of working with his agent, Feed Your Faith signed actor and writer Kirk Cameron for the summer of 2009. Following the success of his 1980s hit television show, Growing Pains, Kirk Cameron married actress Chelsea Noble and started a family. Today the father of six is an outspoken believer and has starred in the Left Behind movie series as well as the widely acclaimed movie Fireproof that was released in theaters nationwide this past year. warren_tree_retouched

North Carolina-born singer/songwriter Warren Barfield is on a mission to make the truly important things important again in his life. Things like faith, love, marriage, children, truth, and with his songs, he challenges us all to do the same. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.” Warren has found those things in his faith, his wife, and his belief in love. “These are the things I would die for; things I will wake up every morning andspend my day fighting for.”

The Bible repeatedly uses “father,” “husband,” “bride” and “child” analogies to demonstrate God’s relationship with the church and his followers. There is no better example of the unconditional love God has for us than what we are instructed to have for our spouse and children. Kirk Cameron will be conducting a powerful marriage seminar on July 18, 2009 at Sevier Heights Baptist Church on Alcoa Highway in Knoxville, Tennessee. We hope you can join us for this moving and life-changing event.
